Mr Browne – Regional Director of Oasis Community Learning

“SAS have successfully provided after school activities across the primary age group for over 5 years at Shirley Park. The coaches have always been reliable and the sessions enable the children to develop their skills in a fun and safe environment.

Coaches are enhanced DBS checked and fully adhere to the academy safeguarding policy. Feedback from both parents and children have been extremely positive and is evidenced by the fact the clubs are consistently fully booked.

Their staff integrate well with our staff and are confident enough to utilise the academy’s positive behaviour policy.

The management of SAS is professional and always prepared to discuss further development of sports provision. I have no hesitation in recommending SAS to other schools”

Head Teacher – Mr R Veale

“Atwood has worked alongside David & Ben and the excellent coaches for the past 5 years. In that time, SAS have been instrumental in raising not only the profile of PE across Atwood, but in developing the skills and confidence of our teachers, through developing the long term curriculum map for PE alongside our PE leaders, but by co-teaching the full range of PE lessons with our teachers. Coaches also lead lunchtime clubs which ensures that the children are active and play together really well.

The team also coach, lead and run many clubs at Atwood and prepare and take children to a wide number of competitions throughout the year. As such, they are able to really put PE and sport at the centre of our educational philosophy.

All coaches are well respected by the staff, families, and our children. Nothing is too much for the team in terms of pupil welfare. Atwood can recommend SAS without reservation.”

J Poplett – Principal of Oasis Academy Bryon

“We are in our second year of working in partnership with SAS Academy and the partnership has grown from strength to strength. We started working together, with them providing two after school clubs for our pupils ranging from R – Y6. We had a great take up of these clubs, and the feedback from our families was how easy it was to make bookings and payment and the structured skilled sessions they wanted their children to engage with.

As we have moved into our second year of partnership, we now have SAS Academy supporting us with our PE provision. All areas of PE skills are outlined across the year groups and demonstrate clear skill progression. We now have coaches supporting the delivery of our PE curriculum from R – Y6. This is tracked against the Oasis Primary PE curriculum to ensure that the development of knowledge and skill is evident across each year group from R – Y6.

In addition to the skill and knowledge-based approach to the teaching of PE and the after-school club provision, SAS Academy have provided us, as a school, with the coaching capacity to enable us to have our first Y5/6 boys football team to compete in the Croydon League for the first time in 5 years.

We have close links with both coaches that work across the 3-day provision and any concerns from both parties are raised and addressed jointly.

We certainly have seen the level of skill development and PE expectation rise, since we have developed our strong partnership with SAS Academy and hope there are further opportunities to engage with the different aspects of provision, they provide moving forward to ensure that our children are given the best PE knowledge and skill development opportunities.”

Emilie Haston – Head Teacher at Goldfinch primary Streatham

“We have worked with Ben, one of the owners of SAS for many years. We have always found him to be hardworking, committed to the children, adaptable and works successfully across all age ranges and needs. We have also worked with other coaches from SAS who also prove to have the work ethic as Ben. They make good relationships with the children and also have high expectations in the sessions.

They offer a variety of sessions that always engage the children and as a result, behaviour is good. SAS also provides lunchtime clubs and after school clubs that are typically well attended. SAS have a vast range of equipment and resources that they bring into school for the children to use. We have always been 100% satisfied with the service and recommend without hesitation.”
